Visma Pay Joins Our Payment Channels

Visma Pay joins PayPal as our options for payment channels in the webshop as per today and thereby replaces Checkout!

What Visma Pay Is

Visma Pay offers a range of payment types: Finnish netbanks and wallets, credit and debit cards, and invoices with option to pay later.

Here they are in list form:

• Netbanks: Osuuspankki, Nordea, Danske Bank, Oma Säästöpankki, Säästöpankki, Aktia, Paikallisosuuspankit, S-Pankki, Handelsbanken, and Ålandsbanken.
• Mobile wallets: MobilePay, Masterpass, Pivo, and Siirto.
• Debit/credit cards: Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard and Debit MasterCard.

Since invoices are tied to excessive shopping and resulting problems with credit in some cases, we have opted out of offering those as payment type, but the rest are definitely available to you.

Why We Left Checkout

After having experienced a huge number of problems with local Checkout, we have decided to let go of that contract as a payment option.

The two different plugins we’ve tested have each had an unacceptable number and range of problems, which all have created unacceptable work for us (doubling inventory reductions in some orders to mention one example) in addition to causing problems for our customers.

The latter has reflected negatively on our shop and once Visma Pay appeared as a replacement for Bambora, both of them being local payment options, it was time for Checkout to go.

I do not recommend Checkout in any shape or form to my fellow business owners using the combination of WordPress and WooCommerce.

Conclusion

My interactions with Visma Pay have been nothing but smooth and hopefully will remain such from now on.
