February has arrived and with it our new, super fresh guest bundle. Keep reading to learn more about both its maker and contents!
Our lovely guest this month is May, who lives in Germany but originates in here Finland. She’s a Swedish-speaking Finn like yours truly, so we had something basic in common when meeting in the shop last year 🙂 But she’s far more prolific in the quilting department and creates truly inspirational projects. Find her on Instagram at fabraholicquilts!
May was asked to pick six prints from our current selection and she pulled an unexpected yet incredibly harmonious bundle of fresh. Yes, in this case one must use fresh as a substantive. If I hadn’t used a few exclamation marks already, one would get thrown in there again.
But I digress. Here you can admire the fabrics better:
The prints work because there are the interesting differences in scale. The colours work because they communicate with each other. And somehow, Mint from Collection CF pulls it all together with its thin orange grid.
I’m not sure how this bundle happened, but May breathed life into it and I hope you’re as inspired as I am. Grab it and make a visually active project with it.
From left to right in an arch:
- Bejeweled Seal Teal by by Katarina Roccella for Art Gallery Fabrics
- Starry Orange You by Alexandra Bordallo for Art Gallery Fabrics
- Basking Buds Jade by Maureen Cracknell for Art Gallery Fabrics
- Menagerie Tiger by Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics
- Collection CF Mint by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman Fabrics
- Dhurrie Luminary by Sharon Holland for Art Gallery Fabrics
These include some favourite print categories: tone-on-tone and white-on-tone as well as tiny prints with lots of background, or just a bit of accent colour.
If you’re just starting out as a sewer/quilter, as far as dependable stash builders go, you won’t aim too far off with a collection like this.
Get Your Own
We are proud to carry this bundle in our shop. Thanks so much, May, for accepting our challenge!
